At the end of March 2010 finally the new law regarding the exploiting of a farm tourism (agriturismo) in Tuscany has been approved. The main points of this new law are:

MORE EMPHASIS ON AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITY (AGRICOLA): the manager and his crew have to dedicate most of their time on the typical products that they produce on the farm. The sales and tasting of these typical products can be directly on the farm or on local and national markets.
SERVING MEALS AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY AND TO EVERYONE: In the past it was only possible to serve meals to guests, new is that meals now can also be served to anyone at any moment of the day. A space can be provided as a restaurant. The only condition is that the kitchen must use products that are produced on the farm or on nearby farms.
